Apple iPhone 4 bagged away the title of the Best Mobile Device at the Global Mobile Awards 2011 at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.
The phone was appreciated by the judges, and according to Apple Insider, the key qualities that brought the phone the much deserved acclaim was it’s “great screen, sharp design, fantastic technology, and phenomenal ecosystem for app developers. In the era of cut throat competition, the iPhone 4 sets the pace for smartphones.”
The iPhone 4 wasn’t however competing against the mobile devices CES 2011. Some other models which got the acclaim along with iPhone 4 for this year were the HTC Desire, LG Optimus 7, BlackBerry Torch 9800 and the Samsung Galaxy S.
Even though an HTC phone was nominated for the best mobile device it didn’t grab the award for Device Manufacturer of the Year. The judges crowned the Taiwanese company in all it’s glory, saying that it has built its market presence from the scratch, with latest branding and marketing techniques and a strong portfolio of devices across many platforms. In particular, it has been successful in proving itself remarkably popular and enduring phone manufacturer. With the iconic techniques and great customer service, this is an award worth appraisal
Indeed this award seems to be quite deserving. I tested the HTC inspire 4G, and found its design and construction to be of the esteem quality, rivaling that of the iPhone 4.
There were several other awards handed out at the ceremony, including App of the Year on the Apple platform, Angry Birds
It was truly a tech lover’s ceremony!
